El Hay Bendito Catering Service was established in 1934. It started as a small bakery in Punta Santiago neighborhood in Humacao, PR. It was managed by my great-grandfather Pedro Lopez Lopez. Years later, in 1974, he started El Carey Restaurant, a small seafood restaurant that became recognized throughout the island for its simplicity and spectacular flavor. It was managed by my father Hector Oquendo chef by profession and my mother Rosemary Lopez hard working woman, great administrator, and chef by experience. That is where many of our authentic recipes come from. It is our pride to continue the family legacy that began at El Carey Restaurant on Humacao beach. It is with great pride that we prepare our products and food that transports our customers to those unforgettable times full of nostalgia.
